Our home camp, Bushmans Gorge Lodge offers anyone the opportunity to escape the rat race of everyday life and enjoy nature and true South African hospitality.

Our intimate reserve is situated just 30 km/ 18 miles East of Grahamstown, the vibrant heart of the Frontier Country in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Grahamstown is situated in one of the most ecological diverse regions of South Africa, an area characterised by its turbulent history and the varied cultures that met here and left their trademarks. Fly into Port Elizabeth or East London where we will collect you at the airport, the lodge is an hour and 45 minute drive away.

Our reserve is home to a wide variety of fauna and flora, with Nyala and Kudu visiting the waterhole which can be seen from the rooms most evenings.

Our comfortable “Bushmans Gorge Lodge” is built on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Fish River valley bush, with caves and original Bushman paintings just a stone’s throw away.

We offer fully catered accommodation, including all meals, non-alcoholic beverages, beer and wine. Rooms are serviced daily and a daily laundry service is provided. We can host parties up to 10 people in 5 luxury en-suite rooms. Rooms are equipped with private bathrooms. Our lodge is equipped with all modern day conveniences like electricity and hot and cold water in every room.

On hot days You can cool down in the pool or catch a tan on the sun deck. On warm evenings we like to treat our guests to a traditional South African barbeque/braai at the outdoor barbeque deck and on cold evenings our guests can enjoy a drink around the fireplace in the dining room/ bar area.
